Released July, 2004
The Pros:Great range--gives you plenty of time to slow down. Performs very well for the price--good for those just looking for a basic unit. Fairly small, compact size allows for easier installation.
The Cons:Alerts don't sound very loudly--can't listen to the radio at moderate to high volumes. No protection against VG-3 anti-radar systems. Can't offer proper protection against instant-on radar guns.
The Cobra XRS 9430 is one of three 12-band, high-performance radar/laser detectors (XRS 9330, XRS 9430, XRS 9530) from the Cobra XRS series. As an upgrade from the 9330, the 9430 adds along a Voice Alert feature that warns the driver with specific voice annunciation of the signal being detected.

Like its predecessor, the unit relies on Xtreme Range Superheterodyne technology to detect 12 radar/laser bands from 360 degrees, and includes an ultra-bright data screen that displays the detected bands via easily recognizable icons. More importantly, the XRS 9430 provides anti-law-enforcement protection in that it can detect VG-2 or Spectre-I anti-radar police detectors. Additional features include detection of the presence of emergency vehicles, road hazards and railroad crossings.
