Cobra XRS 9640

The Cobra XRS 9640 is one of six 12-band, high-performance radar/laser detectors released two years after the original lineup (9330, 9430, 9530) as an upgrade. As a step up from the 9540, the 9640 adds along a bevy of advanced features, including a POP mode radar gun detector, an electronic compass that automatically provides an accurate electronic direction heading, and an IntelliShield system that helps prevent false signal reception.

One thing is does sacrifice, however, is its predecessor's Voice Alert. Regardless, it too picks up the 12 most widely used signals. Plus it provides full protection from speed traps, as well as alerts to incoming emergency vehicles or railroad crossings.
