The additional features included in the PRO-68 are the "twin alert periscope", meaning the device alerts with two flashing LEDs for added alert, and the unique filter mode that filters the alert coming through to make sure it is in fact a legitimate radar signal. In addition the PRO-68 includes different audio alert features such as a unique stay alert mode that chimes every 30 to 60 seconds, 3 city modes and a highway mode, and quiet and auto quiet modes for times when the user requires the device to be silent.
The PRO-68 model includes 360 degree detection; meaning it detects radar signals at all available angles combined with multi-band detection support (X, K, Ka, Superwide Ka, VG-2). The PRO-68 model includes a small LED screen that displays information in a blue text depending on detection and prioritizes certain alerts if there is a lot incoming at one time. The Whistler PRO-68 device city modes are designed to help eliminate false radar detections in a highly populated area; some false detections can usually be made from automatic door openers installed in nearby stores which use the X band radar emission and the city modes turn this detection band off. The PRO-68 model includes additional features such as a vehicle battery saver mode, and a Safety Warning System designed to alert of additional highway hazards such as emergency vehicles or road hazards.
Whistler claims that all PRO radar devices have a unique POP detection mode; modern radar guns can be set into a special POP mode allowing the device to be used without detection however all of Whistler's PRO model detectors including this one will still alert the user to said detection mode.
